Photos from my phone: Petrified Forest National Park

The first photo is of the rain that accompanied us up over the mountains out of Phoenix, gave us a brief respite while we set up camp outside the park, and then came down all night. The building is Agate House, a ruin that was "conserved" by rebuilding it with blocks of petrified wood. The Park Service doesn't approve of such conservation efforts these days, but it makes for an interesting landmark and shows the beauty of the petrified wood. The last picture is of the Painted Desert, but you'll probably have to zoom in to get a hint of what was astonishingly easy and beautiful to see in real life; sorry about that!
